Granddaddy Purple, or GDP, has been a favorite since its debut. Its purple-hued flowers offer irresistible visual appeal, while its deeply relaxing effects make it perfect for unwinding after a long day. With THC levels around 20%, it delivers an intense, long-lasting high. Growers love GDP for its excellent yields and easy-to-manage plants. As one of the most popular indica-dominant hybrids, GDP is both rewarding to cultivate and enjoyable to use. Its genetics combine Purple Urkle, a phenotype of Mendocino Purps, with Big Bud, which has Afghan and Skunk origins, creating a 75% indica, 25% sativa profile.
GDP’s flavor is a treat, with sweet, fruity aromas of blueberry, candy, and hints of pine. Its potent buds provide a relaxing body high while uplifting the mood, making it an ideal nighttime strain. In the grow room or garden, GDP thrives as a sturdy, low-maintenance plant, reaching 80–120cm indoors and 120–150cm outdoors. With proper care, it can yield 450–500g/m² indoors after 8–10 weeks of flowering, and up to 500–600g per plant outdoors by early October.
